GDANSK, CHELMNO und CHELMZA, POLAND 2002 / 2003

Poland is an immediate neighbor of Germany, only about an hour`s drive from Berlin, the city where I live.
Living in a former “ East-West “ city I am fascinated by the close proximity of the different culture, the mentality
and the living situation of a east european country.

In my portraits from Danzig, Chelmno and Chelmza I show teenagers of different social identities who increasingly
take to western ideas and looks and I document the resulting changes.
